10 Foods You SHOULDN’T Eat with Beer!


Foods and drinks are always present whenever there’s a holiday or gatherings with either your family or friends. Drinking in moderation can help promote blood circulation, but, at the same time, it is important to avoid excessive drinking or drinking with an empty stomach.

While foods and drinks are sure to make the occasion extra special, there are some things that you should know, one of which is the food that shouldn’t be eaten while drinking beer. 


1. Haw Flakes

Never drink beer and eat haw flakes at the same time!

It is reported that people who often eat haw flakes with beer are likely to develop stones. You don’t wish this to happen, do you?


2. Raw fish and seafood

In case you don’t know, eating raw fish or seafood with beer can cause gout symptoms. This is because most seafood products produce too much uric acid in the human body, which can make the joints or soft tissues swollen or hot if it [uric acid] is not excreted in time.


3. Persimmon

Persimmon contains tannic acid, which can become bezoar stones in the stomach when you eat along with high protein food or with alcohol.


4. Bacon

Bacon, one of the foods cured by smoked wax, contains more nitrosamines, and the solubility of nitrosamines in alcohol is very large. That is why you should avoid bacon and beer combination as this can increase the risk of esophageal cancer and gastric cancer.


5. Durian

Eating durian and drinking beer is totally not a good combination as it is deadly! Consuming these two at the same time can cause bloating, indigestion, and discomfort as your liver has to work double-time to metabolize both fats and sugars that are present in durian and alcohol.


6. Tomato

Since tomato is a sour food that contains tannic acid as persimmon. Eating tomato while drinking alcohol can cause discomfort, vomiting, and other reactions.


7. Carbonated drinks

There some who occasionally pour carbonated drinks together with alcoholic drinks, which is not good at all. Why? The ingredients in carbonated drinks can speed up the body’s absorption of alcohol and can cause greater damage to the liver.


8. Fermented Tea

After drinking, some might have the habit of looking for some time to sober themselves. What some don’t know is this is a bad combination. Tea is rich in tea polyphenols and has a hepatoprotective effect, but if the tea is quite strong, the theophylline it contains may cause blood vessels to contract, which can result in increased blood pressure, severe headaches, and other symptoms.


9. Carrots

If you just had a drink with your friends, do not eat carrots right away, as alcoholic drinks and carrot combination can easily produce toxins in the liver and induce liver disease.


10. Cephalosporins

Pay attention to this! There are some who need to take medicine after drinking in order to reduce their headache, but you should remember not to take cephalosporins after drinking alcohol as this can cause poisoning reactions in the body!
