Unlike the usual laksa dish, Laksa Johor does not use the normal yellow noodles but pasta. This home-cooked dish has originated in the royal family of Johor. According to the legend, Sultan Abu Bakar (the Sultan King of  Johor from 1886 to 1895) was in Europe on an official mission when he fell in love with Bolognese spaghetti. After returning to Johor, the Sultan ordered the royal chef to make laksa using spaghetti, and so the Laksa Johor was born.
