Early this year, Johor has launched one of the largest startup festivals in the region—IP SMART 2018: CREATE. However, not all are able to participate in the said event, which is why this coming month of August, the prestige bout will once again take place along with the first #Hackathon in Iskandar Puteri!
The IP SMART 2018: CREATE, starting on 17 to 19 August, will feature a variety of workshops and masterclasses for kids, women, micro-entrepreneurs, and startups; a 30-hour Hackathon; E-sports tournament (Southern Tiger DOTA 2), and; a networking session in a span of three days at the CIMB Leadership Academy in Medini, Iskandar Puteri.
There will be more than 400 innovators, entrepreneurs, developers, designers, mentors, and investors from around the region who will be joining this remarkable startup festival.
As mentioned, there will also be the FIRST #Hackathon, a 30-hour practical event designed for technical and non-technical entrepreneurs with the desire to built their own startup. Needless to say, this event will connect participants with mentors, investors, and government agencies with the aims to stir up great outcomes that could possible be implemented in Iskandar Puteri.
#Hackathon targets 100 participants from Malaysia and Singapore to form up to 24 teams that will hack for 3 tracks namely Cashless Society, Social Impact, and General Tracks. The 30-hour event will start from 11:00am on August 18 (Saturday) and ends at 5:00pm on the next day (August 19, Saturday).
In addition to knowledge, and tips and tricks by industry leaders from Johor Bahru, Kuala Lumpur, and Singapore, participants can also stand the chance to win a total cash prize of RM20,000.00!
