The largest startup festival in the southern region of Malaysia, IPSMART “CREATE” is back again in Iskandar Puteri on 26th to 30th June 2019 at the CIMB Leadership Academy, Afiniti Medini. This is a 5 days startup festival to equip yourself with the most sought after business mindset and skill sets in the internet era.
Featuring a series of programme including workshops & masterclass for kids, women, aspiring entrepreneurs, working professional & micro-business owners, a 54 hours hackathon, a pitching competition, 2 panel sharing sessions & networking sessions, curated specifically for ones who’re looking to embark on his entrepreneurial journey and working professionals who’re looking to upskill themselves.
Powered by the master developer, Iskandar Investment Berhad, the organisers had done 2 similar events in 2018 and had successfully trained & inspire more than 800 aspiring entrepreneurs & working professionals in this city. IPSMART will be inviting 25 instructors & mentors who’re serial entrepreneurs & industry experts to conduct the sessions over the 5 days and is expecting more than 500 people participating in this year’s festival.
The IPSMART CREATE 2019 includes [4 workshops], [3 master classes], [54 hours of entrepreneurial weekends], [Entrepreneur Roadshow Contest] and [Entrepreneur Sharing Conference]. In order to give more people the opportunity to learn and improve their skills, the IPSMART “CREATE” 2019 Startup Festival lso has a special workshops for women and children which are the following:
*Google Design Sprint 2.0 Master Class: Solving entrepreneurial problems and creating innovative solutions in 4 days
*Social Enterprise Workshop: Creating a Sustainable Business and Reproducible Business Model for Social Enterprises
*EMOWAVE EQ Workshop: teach you how to break through the bottleneck and develop your own capabilities
*E-commerce Master Class: Achieving double-speed performance growth
*New Media Copy Master Class: Enhance brand influence with copywriting and writing
*Female Entrepreneurs Exchange: Exploring a multi-tasking working woman, how to break through in a competitive business environment
*Children’s Workshop: Learn to use recycled materials and practice by hand to create creative problem solutions.
There’s a total of 7 workshops & masterclass. You don’t have to attend all, just select those that interest you. There’s also specific session for women, kids. All session will be conducted in English.

IPSMART STARTUP PITCHING COMPETITION
The 2nd round of public pitching competition created for entrepreneurs to pitch their startups to potential investors & venture capitalist. A platform that combines elements needed the most by early stage founders including capital, resources, experience and innovation.
The objective of this pitching competition is to identify talented startup founders and high potential projects in the southern region of Malaysia. Entrepreneurs will be able to leverage on the IPSMART platform to showcase their products / services, receive professional advice from experienced mentors & to network with potential investors.
We’ll be selecting 10 startups at the pre-seed and seed stage from the southern region of Malaysia, inviting 5 investors / venture capitalist from the region as judges for the competition. Winner of the competition will be awarded RM5,000 cash prizes and other prizes worth more than RM10,000 from partners.

STARTUP WEEKEND ISKANDAR PUTERI | LAUNCH A STARTUP IN 54 HOURS
Startup Weekends are 54-hour events designed to provide superior experiential education for technical and non-technical entrepreneurs to learn about how to take an idea into a startup over the weekend, with the help from 10 experience mentors from across JB, KL & Singapore.
Beginning with open mic pitches on Friday, attendees bring their best ideas and inspire others to join their team. Over Saturday and Sunday, teams focus on customer development, validating their ideas, practicing LEAN Startup Methodologies and building a minimal viable product. On Sunday evening teams demo their prototypes and receive valuable feedback from a panel of experts.
This weekend will be centred around action, innovation, and education.
