According to Mentri Besar Datuk Hasni Mohammad, Johor intends to purchase 500,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccination from Singapore or China.

He stated that the state was taking proactive measures and would rely on its excellent connections with the two nations to get the additional dosages, which might assist at least 250,000 people.

As Singapore is Johor’s nearest neighbour,  Johor is willing to buy the vaccines if Singapore has extra Covid-19 vaccination doses, as long as the vaccines are approved by our National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency.

For China, Hasni stated that he had informed Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein of Johor’s intention to acquire the vaccinations in order to accelerate the process.

Hasni further mentioned that as promised by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, more vaccinations will be sent to the state in the coming weeks. Those vaccines will be distributed to the state’s 36 vaccine-dispensing centers.
