In line with the fourth year anniversary celebration of JOHOR NOW, an online voting campaign has been held a month ago and now the result is finally out! After gathering all the votes, 14 brands of food, drink, entertainment hubs, and travel destinations will be announced as winners. As for now, the result for the most popular second-floor cafe in Johor Bahru 2019, MERAH Project got the title garnering total votes of 285!

MERAH Project is not only a second-floor retro-style cafe, but it also hides a bar inside! Designed with neon lights, a wine cabinet, a mahjong table, colorful posters on the wall, the place is uniquely beautiful! Its name, in fact, has a significant translation: “Merah” means red in Mandarin, red being the theme of the bar-cafe. With its retro vibes, MERAH Project is indeed Instagrammable!
Aside from being an Instagram-worthy place, MERAH Project is also a must-visit when it comes to delectable foods! They serve mostly Chinese, Western, Japanese, and Korean meals and of course, our local favorites. It would be even more fun to eat especially that the food is placed on a uniquely-designed mahjong table.
