Malaysia Decides to Remove GST on June 1

Malaysia decides to take away its Goods and Services Tax (GST) effective on Jun 1, according to the finance ministry delivered in a statement on Wednesday (May 16).

Applicable all over the country until further notice, GST removal will also require all registered businesses  to comply with the zero rate.

Outgoing leader Najib Razak has established the consumption tax in 2015 and now that Dr Mahathir Mohamad has won the election, the newly PM had vowed to remove it.
