With the progress of the vaccination plan in Malaysia, some people are actively participating and there are also people who are worried about health. The Ministry of Health shared a post on Facebook to let people know whether they are suitable for vaccination. The Ministry of Health also reminded that for those who have health problems, they still need to get advice from a doctor first before vaccinating.

Suitable For Vaccination

  • Non-communicable diseases such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure and diabetes
  • Patients with chronic kidney disease and patient with dialysis
  • Overweight
  • Asthma
  • Autoimmune system diseases, such as systemic lupus erythematosus, psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis
  • Allergy and atopic disease, such as eczema, allergic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis
  • Breastfeeding mothers (suitable for Pfizer and AZ vaccines, Sinovac vaccines need to be discussed with the doctor)
  • Pregnant women (suitable for Pfizer vaccine)
  • Planning for pregnancy
  • Taking birth control pills
  • Mild allergies, such as food, insect bites, environment
  • AIDS (using ART & CD4)
  • Transplant patient
  • Lack of G6PD enzyme
  • Taking drugs that thin and stabilize the blood

Not Suitable for Vaccination

Patients with a history of allergies

  • Had severe allergic reaction to any component of the Corona-19 vaccine
  • Had Allergic reactions to any component of the Covid-19 vaccines within 72 hours after vaccination

Reminder

Evaluation before vaccination

  • People with a weak immune system, bleeding tendency, or a history of severe allergies can go to a clinic or hospital for a pre-vaccination assessment.
