Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar recently congratulates Nauraj Singh Randhawa for breaking the national high jump record, hence qualifying to this year’s Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games 2016 in Brazil this coming August. The ruler posted a message on his official Facebook page, congratulating Johor Bahru’s very own high jumper Nauraj following his success on the 78th Singapore Open Championship at the National Stadium where he got the second place in world ranking.

“You were the gold medalist at the 2013 SEA Games high jump. Since then, you have worked hard on improving yourself. Now, after a three-month training stint in Australia, you have achieved a fine jump of 2.29m, which ranks you the BEST in the country and SECOND BEST in the WORLD. Johor is proud of you! Go forth with confidence and be the best that you can be”  said by Johor Bahru’s ruler on his post and wish him the best in the upcoming Olympics.

Nauraj, 24 years old, born in Johor Bahru was the first sportsman from athletics who fit the bill to the Rio Olympics amidst Singapore Open Athletics Championships recently.
