According to Director-General of The National Security Council Datuk Mohd Rabin Basir, only individuals who have been overseas or have had close contact with Covid-19 patients are required to update their health status. It is not an offense for not updating health status on MySejahtera application if one has not been exposed to Covid-19 cases.

He also stated that according to the SOP of National Security Council, only workers in factories with Covid-19 cases have to update health status daily on MySejahtera.

In addition, Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob also issued a statement stating that failing to update MySejahtera’s health status cannot be regarded as an illegal act, and the related fines should be revoked altogether.

The Ministry of Health also pointed out on Twitter that there are only four conditions that need to be updated on MySejahtera, including experiencing related symptoms, recent travel abroad, close contact with Covid-19 patient, and attending a gathering or being involved in an infected group.
