As to the online report of China Press, Prime Minister Dr Tun Mahathir Mohamad emphasized 10 important things at the press conference held after the Cabinet meeting in Putrajaya yesterday, May 30, 2018.
1. Effective on Sept. 1, 2018, a new Sales and Service Tax (SST) will replace the Goods and Services Tax (GST).
2. All tolled road will be discounted by 50% on June 13-14, two days before Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
3. The new cost of living aid to replace the BR1M will be paid on June 6 with the same value as the BR1M payments.
4. The government will maintain the price of Ron95 and Ron97 even the market’s oil price varies.
5. The Minister of Communication Gobind Singh announced World Cup 2018 matches will be aired live via RTM.
6. The Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High-Speed Rail project to be canceled as agreed by the Cabinet.
7. The government will provide a special RM400 aid for civil servants and give retired servants a special aid of RM200.
8. In order to help country’s finances, Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad decided to stop MRT3 project plan.
9. The Permata programme to be placed under the Education Ministry from the Prime Minister’s Department.
10. “Sayangi Malaysiaku” is the theme for 2018 National Day.
