Though Paloh is just a small town in Kluang District, Johor, Malaysia, it still has something to brag about when it comes to food for it has many authentic cuisines. Paloh’s old town is a home of various authentic dishes even before the early times up until now, it is still a place where people tend to pig out.
Paloh History
Located 35 kilometers away from Kluang and about 32 kilometers from Yong Peng, Paloh town is a balanced population of Chinese, Malays and Indians. During the old times, this place is just a low-lying swamp water, hence the name “Paya”, while “Paloh” is a transliteration from accordingly. As early as 1916, Huang Ren Wang, led the villagers in dredging the fill and started to develop the place. Due to help and participation of the villagers, there were 29 houses built in the town during that year.
Succulent Curry Noodles
One of the most wonderful and notably good food that you can eat in Paloh is their delicious curry noodles. Who wouldn’t be tempted with the thick curry sauce, sweet coconut milk, plus the secret ingredients added. Not to mention that this one is spicy enough to fired up your mouth. To ease the hotness, it is best to match this dish with a raw coconut milk and red bean ice. Truly awesome!

Noodles? Paloh also has your favourite authentic “dried chili wonton noodles”. Getting confused with the term? Lemme clear this up. Dried chili wonton noodles is not a wonton noodle that literally has dried chili on it, rather, the wonton shop owner Lau Pa Sat nickname is “dried chili”, hence the name. Kinda interesting, right? This sumptuous noodles is really worth trying for.

Wong Restaurant has something to brag about here in Paloh – presenting their rice wine noodle, which has a little sour taste and is mixed with other delightful ingredients.
