Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said that problems regarding congestion along Johor Causeway and Second Link will be solved by building a third link. Thus, third link is proposed by the Ministry.

According to the report of chinapress.com, Liow said that the ministry recommended the construction of third link leading from Pasir Gudang to Singapore Changi Airport.
