Aside from fried rice, what other tasty dishes you can make with leftover rice? Try these!

 

1. Crispy rice cracker

Ingredients: Rice, black sesame

Seasoning: oyster sauce

To cook:

1. Mix rice, black sesame, and 2 spoons of oyster sauce

2. Put it in a food bag, or ziplock, and roll it into a thin layer with a rolling pin

3. Set aside in a refrigerator for 15 minutes then cut it into pieces

4. Preheat the oven at 170 degrees and bake it for 15-20 minutes

 

2. Rice cake

Ingredient: Rice

Seasoning: Salt

To cook:

1. After heating the leftover rice, add the salt and stir well

2. Using a spatula, spread the rice in a container

3. Refrigerate for a few minutes then take it out and cut into pieces

4. Deep fry until golden crisp

 

3. Bacon and Mushroom Leftover Rice Scones

Ingredients: 2 small bowls of overnight rice, 1-2 bacon, 3-4 mushrooms, 1/8 onion, black sesame, 1 egg

Teriyaki Sauce Ingredients: 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon miso

 

1. Cut bacon, mushrooms, and onions into small pieces, beat eggs and stir well

2. Heat the pan, do not add oil. Put the cut bacon and cook under low heat. Once all its sides turn golden, you can add the onion and saute. Add mushrooms.

3. When the mushroom becomes tender, you can now add the rice and mix well.

4. Fry the black sesame seeds. pour the rice mixture, then pour the egg and mix evenly

5. Add soy sauce and mirin, wait for about 1 minute. Then, start preheating the oven to 190 degrees

6. Spread a tin foil on the baking tray and brush a little oil on it. Add rice and shape it into thick round cakes

7. Brush the surface with teriyaki sauce and bake it!

 

*Note: Take it out from the oven after 8.5 minutes, brush the sauce again, bake for another 5 minutes, no need to turn it over.

 

4. Tasty Claypot Overnight Meal

Ingredients: 1 bowl of leftover rice, oil, 1 egg, barbecued pork / roasted meat/sausage, 1-2 mushrooms, 2 small kale, little  soy sauce

 

1. Add some water to the rice and a few drops of cooking oil. Mix together. The rice will look a little loose

2. Brush the pan with oil

3. Add the rice, mix it on high heat. Next, lower the heat, add sausage, mushroom, add egg in the middle of the rice

4. Once the egg is almost cooked, turn off the heat for 1-2 minutes. Stew for 5 minutes

5. In another pot with water, add salt, oil and the kale. It takes about 30 seconds to boil.

6. Open the lid, add the rice mixture and other meat ingredients. Enjoy!

 

6. Leftover Kimchi Rice

Ingredients: 1 bowl of leftover rice, 2 cloves of garlic, sugar, salt, kimchi, pork

 

1. Slice the pork

2. Pickle it for 10 minutes using a wine soy sauce

3. Stir-fry the pork with 2 cloves of garlic, add the kimchi, sprinkle some salt and sugar

4. Add the rice and mix evenly.

 

6. Rice Cakes

Ingredients: 1 bowl of leftover rice, 3-5 eggs, 1 ham sausage, half carrot, half corn, 2 spring onions, 5g salt, pepper, and oil

 

1. In a pan, add corn, ham sausage, carrots, and green onion.

2. Beat the eggs and pour it to the rice and mix well. Add the fried corn, ham sausage, carrot, and spring onion

3. Season with salt and pepper

4. Fry it until it turns golden brown

5. Flip the other side and wait until it also turns golden brown

 

7. Fried Rice Balls

Ingredients: 1 bowl of leftover rice, oil, 3 tablespoons soy sauce, half spoon dark soy sauce, 3g white pepper, 1 spoon sugar

 

1. Add edible oil to the leftover rice and stir evenly. Shape the rice into triangular rice balls. No need to put a lot of oil, just a spoonful will do.

2. In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, dark soy sauce, and sugar. Add white pepper for seasoning

3. In a pan, fry the rice balls until all sides turn crunchy under medium-low heat! 

4. Pour the sauce, allow the rice balls to absorb it
