This street has more than 30 years of history in upholding the food culture. The street has also a lot of hidden classic food and boutique cafes.

 

The origin of the name

Before we go on unveiling the food spots in Jalan Maju, let us first have a short background of the name of this street. Maju is a Malay word for “prosperous”. Jalan Maju was then renamed Jalan Hujan Manik when the Taman Overseas Union development came about.

If you’re a lover of otak otak, you can enjoy two types of your favorite street snack at Shiduoli. The stall has been around for over 30 years is already passed to the third generation. Whether you want to try otak with nasi lemak or rice siam, this stall is a truly must-go.

Master Hsu Tai Wan Xiao Chi is a Taiwanese restaurant in Jalan Maju that also has branches in Mount Austin and City Square. This restaurant sells a variety of street snacks, packages, and desserts. In addition, there are also milk tea, oyster omelette, salty crisp chicken and other Taiwanese snacks.

Despite not having a store name, this mobile rojak stall seems to be popular for foodies. The owner of this mobile stall can be seen along Jalan Maju next to Pelangi Plaza.
