Cervical cancer is one of the top killers in our country, and to other countries as well. In fact the World Health Organization defines this as one of the gravest threats to women’s lives as it normally occurs to women over 30 years and has a high mortality rate. In order to suppress the growing number of women with this kind of cancer, HPV or the human papillomavirus is one of the most important measures. Good thing, the National Population and Family Board or LPPKN (Lembaga Penduduk dan Pembangunan Keluarga Negara) will be providing free HPV vaccinations for Malaysian women!

Unmarried women born from 1991-1996 will receive free vaccination

If you’re an unmarried Malaysian citizen born from 1991 to 1996 you are entitled to get free vaccination at LPPKN. As for married women who want to get vaccinated, they can enjoy it at a three times discounted price from RM540 to RM180 only. However, the government only provided 27,000 vaccines this year. So, if you want to get one, make an appointment or look for a nearby LPPKN. Check it on the LPPKN website —> http://pvhpv.lppkn.gov.my/login.php

Vaccination details

The HPV vaccination process requires three vaccines, wherein the first and second vaccinations are separated by one month, while the third vaccination will be injected half a year after the second. In the first year after receiving the vaccine, the woman should not be pregnant and the injection time should be in accordance to the card issued by LPPKN.

Things to remember about HPV vaccination

Avoid wearing shorts during the vaccination day.

HPV vaccine should not be given to pregnant women, physically ill or those who suffered serious diseases.

In addition, according to statistics, injection of HPV vaccine can prevent 70% of cervical cancer, so in order to avoid it don’t miss the chance to get this free vaccination! The vaccination service is open from Sunday to Wednesday around 8:30am – 12:00nn and 2:00pm – 4:30pm.
