The renowned “Blue Tears” island consisting of nine magnificent islands, will be closed starting April!
Its name “Blue Tears” was formed by the luminescent purple plankton you’ll find along the vast coast at night. This island can also be seen in Maldives, China and Taiwan.
Officially close on April 1
According to Sin Chew Daily, due to the destruction of the ecological environment of the island, the Perak government will close the island for a thorough review and bylaws that will be implemented for the betterment of the said island.
During peak season, there are about 300 to 400 tourists that visits the island which violates the ruling that only 120 visitors are allowed to visit per day.
Rebooting date is not yet determined
Datuk Norie added, the authorities failed to determine when will be the re-opening of the island. They are still reviewing and planning strategic analysis on how to protect and preserve the natural beauty of Pulau Sembilan.
