According to Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, the B40 (lower income bracket) group and people affected by job loss, as well as micro enterprises and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) that are not allowed to operate during the MCO 3.0 period can apply for:

In order to ease burden of the citizens due to the implementation of the 14-day full lockdown, the government announced its decision to re-launch the loan repayment plan under the PERMERKASA+ aid package.

 

According to Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin , the B40 group, individuals who lost their jobs due to MCO, small and medium enterprise (SMEs) and non-operating companies during the this full lockdown can apply:

1.option of obtaining an moratorium approval for 3 months 

2. reduction in repayment in instalments of 50% for 6 months on loan 

This plan will start in June and is projected to assist more than five million borrowers worth up to RM30 billion.

In addition, those M40 and T20 group whose income has reduced during this lockdown, can request a reduction in monthly installments based on the reduced income.

The National Bank also stated that the application for this assistance program for deferred loan repayment will be simple and efficient. All applications for individuals will be processed within 5 working days, while applications for enterprises will require 14 working days.

If people encounter problems when applying for this assistance program, or do not receive any response from the bank within the specified time, they can contact “BNM TELELINK” or fill out a complaint form at bnm.my/RAsurvey and file a complaint with the National Bank.

Those who want to apply for the loan repayment can apply or check with their respective banks. In addition, the government reminds you once again that the extension of the loan repayment plan is not automatic and requires an application.
